Donít be fooled by this oneÖ.

Josh,
What do you see or know that I don't?
Bob Jurewicz

Brett Souder 09-28-2021 10:35 AM

Yep, definitely a scam. I saw his Perazzi MX28 listing and I knew I had seen it the gun before. He is using photos of Dawson's Doubles listings as his own. Not sure who has the Parker, but I'm sure it's not him. Be careful who you do business with.

Thatís a gun he has listed on Guns International . And this person used his pictures etc on GB .

Josh Loewensteiner 09-28-2021 10:57 AM

I have the gun listed for sale on GI and it is in my inventory.

Dean Romig 09-28-2021 12:08 PM

That seller “Mgimmey” is sure one to stay away from. Of course, he could change his name anytime he needs to.

Mills Morrison 09-28-2021 01:20 PM

I stay away from Gunbroker now unless it is a seller I know. It was fun while it lasted though

Bill Murphy 09-28-2021 02:26 PM

Josh, is $2136.00 your best price? It's about over for gunbroker unless they take care of these situations.

David Noble 09-28-2021 02:54 PM

Josh, I'm sure you have reported this scam to Gunbroker so why have they not killed the auction?
On a side note, why does the letter say it was ordered with 24 inch barrels, and then a few lines down it says the barrels are 28 inches? An error by Mark Conrad, or were the barrels listed in the stock book as 28" and shortened to 24" to fill the order?

I got it on good authority that the fake seller is actually a crotchety old guy in New England with a white beard that used to be the editor of some lesser known gun rag , think the magazine was for some colectors organization or some such nonsense called something or other pages . Definitely the type to stay the hell away from :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::bigbye:

Apologies but that was just to good for me to let go !

I wonder if Josh will take $4 grand? That is nearly twice the current bid. Yeah right

I tried to report some of these jokers but the process was too long and hard so I just took business elsewhere

Reggie Bishop 09-28-2021 05:01 PM

Hey that's the "Bishop" gun I have heard about!

Ken Descovich 09-28-2021 05:30 PM

I say Josh buy it now and tell them you already own it.

Joseph Sheerin 09-28-2021 05:51 PM

Sure hope the guy who won the auction does their due diligence in making sure the seller actually has the gun before sending him the funds.....

GB is getting pretty bad about this stuff.

John Dallas 09-28-2021 06:12 PM

Wouldn't it be interesting for someone from here to show up at the guy's house to buy the gun?

Mike Poindexter 09-28-2021 09:44 PM

The "buyer" of the Parker and the Perazzi scammed the scammer. Won the auction to shut it down, then left scathing feedback calling the seller out. Has no intention of sending any money. Look at the seller's response to see some English as a Second Language. Too bad GB wont do any of this policing themselves.

Mills Morrison 09-28-2021 09:55 PM

The feedback exchange is pretty classic. Should send ATF after him next

Chris Travinski 09-29-2021 10:51 PM

It looks like the positive feedback on his account is BS as well. Two of the 4 positive feedback posts are from members whose accounts have been closed. Thankfully we have a safe environment here to swap guns, lately the more public forums are pretty sketchy.

This is exactly what I suggested doing previously.

Bruce P Bruner 09-30-2021 11:14 AM

I sent the seller a scathing email from the "Ask the seller a question". "Scammer", "Criminal" and "Scum" were some of my words. It's almost humorous the way these unscrupulous characters are so obvious in their evil intent. It's unfortunate GB has no easy way to report and shut down these simpletons. If you have routinely followed GB over the years as I have you know who the reputable members are. Any seller/vendor with single digit feedback is a risk and further vetting would be necessary. There are many GB members that are completely trustworthy.
I'm pleased the buyer shoved this auction back in his face. There is a certain lawlessness on the web and law enforcement offers little to no assistance in these matters. "Caveat emptor".

Brian Dudley 09-30-2021 11:38 AM

There really is no repercussion for "buying" the item to shut it down. Except negative feedback. Which Gunbroker would remove once it is clear that it is a scam. So it really is a great way to take the matter into ones own hands when it is seen.

I had previously noticed that these bogus accounts do work together (likely are the same person anyway) to leave positive feedback for each other. In this case the seller had 3 positive feedbacks from three different users, all were very low ratings and two of which were no longer registered users.

Spotting the scam listings is pretty damn easy. The pricing is half what the gun should be and the feedback ratings are NR or very low.

You can report fraudulent listings, but it is not very easily done directly from the listing. You have to write down the listing numbers and then follow a number of links and then report the information to them that way.

Mike.... Where/how did you find those comments. I would just like to read them. I hate these scammers

Larry Stauch 09-30-2021 01:14 PM

Scammers

Most of these people are in another country and once the money is transacted it is gone, impossible to get back. During my working life we had an incident in our Reno Nevada office in where a person of unknow identity called the state of Nevada and said that we (the company) were changing our electronic deposit account and would they please switch to this new number. The low level state employee did not question it or follow up with a call to our local office to confirm and verify the change. Our monthly project progress payment came up and was electronically sent to the new account. After a period of time our office controller called the state and asked where the payment was and of course that exposed the problem. It was discovered that the people were in a foreign country and there was no possibility of recovering the money. That costed the state of Nevada $2.7 MILLION dollars. So, things happen out there.

Looks like GB shut the sellers account down and altered the original feedback thread from "wolf-clan-man" to exclude the lengthy diatribe and equally lengthy seller response. Worse than scammers, I hate content editors who play fast and loose with internet messages. Now you see it, now you dont.
