Default Ruff Grouse Society

Not SxS but O/U. Winchester model 101's "matched set" 12&20 ga made in 1984 from what I can tell.Only 25 sets were scheduled to be made but not certain if they made that many. Serial # RGS-20-XX&RGS-12-XX. Any one have a reliable source of info. on these? Have spent 3-5 hrs testing my "google-foo" with no luck. Nice shotguns w/logoed Hard Cases even tho they aren't side by sides. Helping a friend w/family estate. Any help/direction appreciated..

These may be a limited run called "The Grouse Gun." The 20-gauge version had 25" barrels, choked IC/M. Round knob grip. These were engraved by the late Ned Smith with a gold RGS symbol.

The run of 20-gauge was 250 shotguns. These sold at the time for $1600 (1984).

They later produced 25 sets of 12 and 20-gauge guns at $3500 (1984).

Like everything else, condition is everything. People like those Model 101's.

Can't place a value on them without seeing them or any more information, but hopefully this helps a little.

If you type "Winchester Model 101 Ruffed Grouse Society" into a search engine, plenty of info and previous auction sales turn up.

Garry, if you want to list for sale on this site, you must be a member which you can accomplish from the Home page.

Thats what I thought Keavin.Joined as we have 7 Parker reproduction, 1 original& many other quality shotguns including 101's. Thought this would be a good forum for info on theParkers and possibly some of the others that are sometimes difficult to chase info down on. Not really set up to do any "on line" sales or deal w/ any of the possible issues involved. Currently going to Louisville in the spring & Tulsa in the spring and fall. Have gotten some very helpful info on some of the reproductions from here, but still working on some of the others.

You should consider membership. You'd be among likeminded folks...and at least one other person who knows that the name Garry deserves two Rs.
